Alpine name new Deputy Technical Director

Alpine have appointed Jason Somerville as the new Deputy Technical Director, marking his return to the Enstone-based team where he previously worked in 2010. Somerville brings extensive experience from his time at Williams, Formula One Management, and the FIA, where he served as Head of Aerodynamics. Somerville will report to Executive Technical Director David Sanchez, aiming to bolster Alpine's technical leadership. Both Somerville and Sanchez expressed optimism about the appointment, viewing it as a crucial step in maintaining the team's momentum during the 2026 season. Following a challenging 2025 campaign, Alpine has shown significant improvement in the 2026 season under the new regulations, currently sitting fifth in the Constructors' Championship with 23 points.
