Hamilton apologises after ‘painful lesson’ in Singapore
Lewis Hamilton has shouldered the blame for a costly strategy gamble at the Singapore Grand Prix, admitting that his decision to stay out on aging soft tyres under a Virtual Safety Car was a painful lesson. Hamilton missed the pit lane entry and ultimately finished sixth.
After feeling unwell following the grueling race, Hamilton was cleared by FIA medical staff to miss media obligations. In a subsequent statement, the seven-time World Champion expressed regret over the lost points for Ferrari while vowing to bounce back at the next round.
