'We owe him one' – Mekies on Hadjar's Singapore issues
Red Bull Team Principal Laurent Mekies has apologised to Isack Hadjar after a series of reliability issues ruined the rookie's Singapore Grand Prix weekend. Hadjar suffered multiple power unit and gearbox failures throughout the practice, sprint, and qualifying sessions, ultimately forcing him to start the main race from the pit lane.
Despite the nightmare weekend, Hadjar delivered a stellar drive from the back of the grid, carving through the field to finish in 10th place and secure a point. Mekies praised the mechanics—including members of Max Verstappen's crew—for working tirelessly under difficult conditions to repair the car, admitting that the team owes Hadjar a clean weekend at the upcoming United States Grand Prix.
