Hamilton quickest from Antonelli in sole British GP practice

Lewis Hamilton set the pace in the opening practice session for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, topping the timesheets with a 1m 29.260s lap. The home favorite edged out championship leader Kimi Antonelli by over two-tenths of a second, while Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc rounded out the top three. The hour-long session saw teams focusing on maximizing track time ahead of Sprint Qualifying, with George Russell and Oscar Piastri also showing competitive pace. Despite the intense action, there were challenges for several drivers: Piastri suffered a spin at Becketts that left his tyres dead, while Lando Norris struggled with track limit infringements and technical issues. Practice concluded with Verstappen in sixth, followed by Norris and Isack Hadjar. Nico Hulkenberg and Liam Lawson rounded out the top ten, as the grid now turns its attention to the upcoming Sprint Qualifying session later this afternoon.
