This decision marks a shift from the softest compounds used in the previous two races, adding an intriguing strategic element as Lando Norris aims to continue his momentum after his Monaco victory. Teams will receive two sets of hard tyres, three sets of mediums, and eight sets of softs, along with access to intermediate and full wet tyres if conditions demand. An additional set of softs is reserved for Q3 qualifiers, and crucially, all drivers must use at least two different slick compounds during the dry race. Pirelli notes that these compounds have been revised since last year, particularly the C2, to create more equidistant performance gaps, potentially favoring the medium and soft for race strategies. Given Barcelona's many fast corners, especially Turn 3 and the final two right-handers, the front left tyre will face the greatest stress. Historically, a two-stop strategy has been common at Montmelo, with most drivers starting on softs and often finishing on a second set of softs or the hard compound.
