Piastri hit with three-place grid penalty at Monza

Oscar Piastri has been issued a three-place grid penalty for the Italian Grand Prix after stewards ruled he impeded Liam Lawson during the Q2 session of Qualifying. Despite his initial third-place effort, Piastri will now start from sixth on the grid. According to the stewards, while Piastri had received warnings about approaching cars, he was unable to avoid blocking Lawson at the first chicane. Although the stewards acknowledged that Piastri had limited options given the situation, they maintained that the impeding was both inadvertent and unnecessary. Piastri expressed that it was a difficult situation to manage, while Lawson noted that although he was disappointed to miss the Q3 cut, his overall performance had been compromised regardless.
