Leclerc admits final lap spin in Miami 'all on me'
Charles Leclerc expressed deep disappointment after a last-lap spin at the Miami Grand Prix relegated him from a potential podium finish to sixth place. The Ferrari driver admitted the error was entirely his own, noting that he should not be making such mistakes at this stage of the season.
Leclerc led the race early on after a strong start, but struggled with strategy and lost ground during the opening laps. Despite a mid-race recovery that put him in contention for third, he was overtaken by Oscar Piastri on the penultimate lap. His subsequent attempts to regain the position resulted in a high-speed spin into the wall, which caused damage that prevented him from defending against George Russell and Max Verstappen in the final corners. Leclerc acknowledged that while Ferrari remains competitive, the team's race pace and strategy were insufficient to match the leaders on this occasion.
