The Spanish Grand Prix delivered a mixed bag of fortunes across the Formula 1 grid, with McLaren celebrating a resounding 1-2 victory thanks to Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris. Piastri, who started strong, maintained a comfortable lead throughout, successfully navigating a late Safety Car restart to secure his fifth win of the season. Norris, despite a tougher start, skillfully moved past Max Verstappen to secure McLaren's dominant finish, further cementing their lead in the Constructors' Championship. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc salvaged a podium finish, capitalizing on the Safety Car to gain ground on fresh soft tires. However, his teammate Lewis Hamilton struggled with pace, finishing sixth. Mercedes' George Russell secured fourth, but a contentious clash with Verstappen after the Safety Car highlighted the race's intensity. Verstappen's race unravelled after he was penalised for this incident, dropping him to tenth. Kick Sauber's Nico Hulkenberg was a standout performer, climbing to a remarkable fifth place, bringing crucial points to his team. Racing Bulls' Isack Hadjar also impressed with a strong seventh-place finish, his fourth points-scoring race in five outings. Conversely, Williams and Haas endured difficult weekends, with incidents and penalties hindering their progress.
