Piastri determined to find answers as points lead shrinks
Oscar Piastri's lead in the Drivers' Championship significantly narrowed at the United States Grand Prix, where Max Verstappen's dominant victory saw the gap shrink to just 40 points. Piastri finished fifth in Austin, struggling with pace throughout the weekend and retiring from the Sprint race after a collision. This allowed Verstappen to gain a substantial 23 points.
Adding to the pressure, teammate Lando Norris secured second place, reducing his own deficit to Piastri to just 14 points. Piastri expressed determination to understand his car's performance issues, acknowledging the intensified championship battle with Verstappen and Norris as the season heads to Mexico City.
