Hamilton braced for ‘damage limitation’ in Hungarian GP

Lewis Hamilton has been handed a three-place grid penalty for the Hungarian Grand Prix after stewards ruled he impeded Oscar Piastri during Qualifying. Having originally qualified second, the seven-time World Champion will now start Sunday's race from fifth place. Hamilton, who had expressed concerns about 'damage limitation' even before the penalty was confirmed, noted that he was unaware of Piastri’s approach during his cool-down lap. Despite his strong pace throughout the session, Hamilton felt the team's decision to send him out first for his final run was suboptimal, as he struggled with a lack of grip that prevented him from securing pole position.
