‘Back to school’ – Cadillac test driver Herta explains F2 preparations following IndyCar switch

Colton Herta is meticulously preparing for his maiden Formula 2 season in 2026, a strategic move to secure the Super Licence points essential for a future Formula 1 bid. He describes his approach as "back to school," focusing on mastering the unique characteristics of F2 cars, braking techniques, and Pirelli tire management, which differ significantly from his IndyCar experience. The transition presents a considerable challenge, as seen with Ritomo Miyata's F2 journey. Herta will get his first taste of an F2 car with Hitech in Abu Dhabi in December. Beyond F2, he will also serve as Cadillac's F1 test driver and compete in select IMSA SportsCar Championship rounds.
