Vowles hopes 'painful' Japanese GP will be 'line in the sand'
Williams team boss James Vowles has described their difficult Japanese Grand Prix as a "line in the sand" for the team, following a challenging weekend in Suzuka where Carlos Sainz finished 15th and Alex Albon placed 20th while running a test programme.
The team admits the FW48 is currently overweight, which significantly hinders their performance. Vowles emphasized the need to utilize the upcoming five-week break to develop the car and return more competitive for the Miami Grand Prix.
Sainz expressed satisfaction with his performance given the car's limitations, while Albon highlighted the necessity of finding more speed to address the team's current lack of pace in the midfield.
