Alpine consider 'what action should be taken' after Colapinto crash

Flavio Briatore, Executive Advisor for Alpine, has expressed deep frustration following a disastrous incident at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, where rookie Franco Colapinto’s collision forced a double DNF for the team. Colapinto, who misjudged a Safety Car restart, struck team-mate Pierre Gasly, which subsequently collected McLaren’s Lando Norris, effectively ending their race. Briatore criticized the move as "very poor" given the Argentine's experience, noting the team missed out on crucial championship points against Racing Bulls. While Colapinto took full responsibility for the error and issued apologies to the team and the victims, Briatore stated he would take time to consider further action to prevent such incidents from recurring. Adding to the team's woes, Colapinto will face a five-place grid penalty for the upcoming Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia. Both Gasly and the team are now focused on moving past this setback, though the incident has clearly strained the atmosphere at Alpine.
