All the penalties dished out at the Monaco Grand Prix
The 2026 Monaco Grand Prix was defined by a series of penalties that reshaped the final standings. Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli secured his fifth victory, while behind him, several drivers faced disciplinary action from the stewards.
Sergio Perez endured a difficult day with Cadillac, receiving a drive-through penalty for an initial starting position error, a 10-second penalty for a restart infringement that stripped him of a points finish, and a reprimand for a practice start error. Similarly, George Russell of Mercedes suffered due to a pit lane speeding penalty that was incorrectly served, resulting in a further drive-through penalty and a drop to 12th place.
Pierre Gasly lost a podium finish after two five-second penalties for pit lane speeding demoted him to 7th, leading Alpine to request a Right of Review. Meanwhile, Nico Hulkenberg dropped to 13th following a collision with Carlos Sainz, and Lando Norris retired as McLaren struggled throughout the weekend.
